FLYNN Receive Investors in People Award

Maurice Flynn & Sons Ltd, a leading maintenance contractor based in Dunmurry has received its Investors in People award at a ceremony in Hillsborough Castle. Martina Crilly, human resources manager at FLYNN, said that the Investors in People programme has been at the heart of the development and implementation of the company’s HR strategy. Managing Director, Aidan Flynn who has sponsored the company’s implementation of the IIP programme said “as a result of the continuing growth of our company, a range of development needs were identified and addressed such that we are already seeing improvements in the delivery of services and levels of engagement with our people. This investment in our people will under pin our business as we continue to grow and become increasingly effective and efficient.”

Paul Devoy, head of Investors in People UK, added: “It is an honour to be able to present awards to organisations that are achieving fantastic results by really investing in their workforce. “Businesses that achieve the Investors in People Standard have proven their commitment to realising the potential of their people, adopting sound people management practices we know contribute to organisational success, and then evidencing this through a rigorous assessment process. ”Tim Devine from the Department for Employment and Learning, congratulated those receiving the business award. “The UK Commission for Employment and Skills last year released the latest findings from an employer evaluation on the impact of the IiP framework,” he said. “Some 71% of businesses reported achieving the business results expected and 23% reported higher than anticipated benefits. “Northern Ireland employers also experienced better results on a variety of fronts than their counter parts in the rest of the UK.”
