The Team from FLYNN were delighted to attend the CEF Construction Excellence Awards Gala dinner(along with Barry McGuigan) where they were awarded top honours in H&S having also won this category in 2016. FLYNN were also proud to be finalists in two other categories, Health Infrastructure and Training. This is a tremendous achievement and credit to the H&S Team and all those on the ground who take the care to do things right every day. This award proves that with relatively limited investment, but significant innovative thinking, an SME can achieve ‘Best in Class’ standards of H&S while improve results, reducing costs and enhancing wellbeing.

The feedback from the judging Panel as to why FLYNN were the winners in the category of Health &Safety:

In a tightly fought group of 4excellent finalists, this company demonstrated how they successfully manage a very wide variety of risks, including those faced by sub-contractors, and how they are continuously identifying and addressing new and emerging risks, such as mental health and occupational road risk.

The judging panel was particularly impressed by the strategic approach taken to managing occupational health, hygiene and welfare issues, including beyond the workplace, and by the company’s clear commitment to play an important role in protecting and supporting the local communities they serve.
